KABUL, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said late Monday that it had signed four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with leading domestic and international aid agencies.

Allocating over 1.23 million U.S. dollars to assist returning refugees and internally displaced families across multiple provinces, the agreements will benefit more than 10,749 families and 110,812 individuals in Kabul, Kunar, Helmand, Zabul, Nimroz, Badghis, Farah, and Herat provinces, the ministry said in a statement.

The funds will support the construction of refugee assistance centers, cash distributions, the provision of winterization kits and kitchen utensils, educational programs, public awareness campaigns, and social and psychological services in the above-mentioned provinces.

The initiatives underscore the Afghan government's push for greater investment from local and international partners to address economic hardships and foster job creation amid ongoing repatriation efforts from neighboring countries.■
